Nile Genesis Embroidered Pouch

A handcrafted linen pouch featuring a repetitive Egyptian-inspired motif drawn from the cosmic myth of Nut, the sky goddess, and Geb, the earth god. The mirrored forms reference the cosmic myth and the Nile’s reflection, while the central motifs echo the lotus flower, symbolizing creation, renewal, and rebirth. Subtle wheat elements complement the embroidery, adding a sense of growth and abundance.

Finished with hand embroidery in mustard yellow, teal green, and terracotta brown, the design brings ancient Egyptian symbolism into a clean, contemporary accessory.

This piece is part of Karama, a project celebrating inspired design and craftsmanship. The embroidery was crafted by the women of Stabl Antar, bringing traditional handcraft into a contemporary garment.
