Inspired by the Egyptian goose and the timeless proverb “Ibn El-Wez ‘Awwam” (like father, like son), this embroidered linen dress reimagines a familiar Egyptian story through a contemporary design.
Drawing from the goose’s connection to the Nile and ancient Egyptian mythology, the embroidery combines abstracted goose forms with lotus, wheat, feather, and Nile-inspired motifs, symbols of creation, renewal, fertility, and abundance.
Part of a project with Karama, the piece was brought to life through the embroidery work of women artisans from Stabl Antar, turning Egyptian-inspired motifs into a wearable expression of culture and craftsmanship.
Made from linen, it features a relaxed, flowing silhouette with hand-embroidered motifs in teal, gold, and earthy tones across the neckline, bodice, and hem.
