Sand Beige Linen Dress with Egyptian-Inspired Embroidery
Sand Beige Linen Dress with Egyptian-Inspired Embroidery
Inspired by the Egyptian proverb “Ibn El-Wez ‘Awwam” (Like Father, Like Son), this piece tells a story of family, belonging, and the way we inherit what shapes us.
The embroidery draws from ancient Egyptian symbolism, bringing together the goose, lotus, feathers, Nile reflections, and wheat. The lotus represents creation and renewal, while wheat reflects fertility, nourishment, and abundance.
Made from lightweight linen, the dress features a relaxed, flowing silhouette with hand-embroidered motifs in terracotta brown, teal green, and mustard yellow, complemented by individual wheat motifs and a central goose design.
This piece is part of Karama, a project celebrating Egyptian-inspired design and craftsmanship. The embroidery was crafted by the women of Stabl Antar, bringing ancient Egyptian symbolism into a contemporary garment.
